The history of Lunt sterling flatware is over 100 years in the making.
Lunt Silversmiths was originally incorporated in 1902 as the Rogers, Lunt and Bowlen Co., and with the exception of the WWII years, has made sterling flatware in our New England facility continuously since then.
Lunt Silversmiths is the successor to the A.F. Towle Company, which first established itself in Greenfield, Massachusetts in the late 1800's. In 1902 Lunt took ownership of the silver manufacturing business and continued to sell patterns originally made by its predecessor. All the patterns in these archives from 1903 to the present were made with the Lunt trademark(s). Before that date, they carried the A.F. Towle mark.
All of the patterns from the early days of both companies were made under the design supervision of Rogers, Lunt and Bowlen Co. co-founder George C. Lunt, who began his career in the silver industry as an engraver for A.F. Towle.
To follow the introduction of sterling patterns from 1883 to the present, and to help identify a pattern of interest, scroll through the sterling patterns presented here. They are shown in chronological order by the year they were introduced.
